My keyboard has accumulated a lot of dust, oil, bits of potato chips etc from I don't know where. And the dust is sticking to the sides of the keys and also underneath the keys.
I don't have a vacuum cleaner. Should I open the keyboard will it work or is there any other way to do it? Are there some special liquid solutions to clean sticky dust from keyboards?
Answer:
It depends on how clean you want it. If you’ve a little bit of time on your hands then I'd advocate doing what I did. I took my keyboard apart and removed all the keys. All large plastic parts I cleaned with dish soap and a rag and dried them off. All keys I meticulously wiped with a rag and isopropyl alcohol. I then put everything back together, making sure everything was dry. I ended up with a keyboard that looked brand new.
Its a lot of work, but its worth it to have a clean keyboard.
Answer:
Most personal cleaning is done with cans of compressed air (available at your local electronics store).
For sticky substances and oils, you will need some kind of solvent. Water is bad for electronics, so you'll probably want an alcohol based substance. When you're at your electronics store picking up compressed air, ask them about keyboard/electronics cleaning kits which will include appropriate, non-damaging solvents and non-abrasive cloths to wipe off your keys.
Answer:
Get a can of compressed air. Blow it all over your keyboard and it will clean it really well. You can also run a rag over it but the ideal way is to used caned air. You can find it nearly anywhere. It is also very cheap. Make sure that you don't take apart your keyboard because you might mess something up and it will get very high-priced!!
Hope this helps!! ♥
Answer:
First, blow away any loose dust & debris with a can of compressed air. The spray some Windex all-surface cleaner onto a paper towel, and use that to vigorously clean the keyboard- keep the keyboard upside down while cleaning it so the cleaning solution won't drip underneath the keys.

this should help you tremendously =P
